There are 7 parts of speech in English as follows.
Noun (N): word
that used to name or identify any of thing class, people, places, etc. E.g:
cake, book, table, bag, Indonesia, etc.
Pronoun (Prn): word
that used in place of noun/noun phrase. E.g: she, he, it, I, we, etc.
Verb (V): word
that used to indicate activities such as eat, write, read, swim, etc.
Adverb (Adv): word
that used to give more information about time (e.g: yesterday, last night), manner (fluently, happily) and frequency (e.g:
alwyas, never), etc.
Adjective (Adj): word
that indicates quality of person/thing. E.g: beautiful, soft, green, blue, etc.
Preposition (Prep):
group of words that used before noun/pronoun to show place, position, etc. For example,
on, in front of, between, etc.
Conjunction (Conj):
word that used to connect some words, phrases or sentences such as FANBOYS (for,
and, nor, but, or, yet, so ).
Note:
Ada juga yang mengatakan bahwa parts of speech itu berjumlah 8, hal itu dengan menambahkan interjection (wow, ah...,etc.) didalamnya.^^
